Synchromesh, Paddle Shift Riesling Spritzer – Okanagan Falls, BC 8% 250ml – $7.99
We’re huge fans of alternative packaging. Glass can be relatively useless for products designed to be drank NOW! and what better format than wine in a CAN! It’s a concept that has deep roots in the US for the last 10+ years, and is starting to catch on here. This is high-quality BC Riesling that’s been brightened with a light soda spritz. Slightly off-dry, with refreshing acidity zipping across the finish line – an actual pleasure.
Domaine de la Ragotiere, Sauvignon – Loire, France 12% 750ml – $24.99
Domaine de la Ragotiere wines are imported by Liberty Imports in Vancouver, a company that focuses on small, sustainable, family run and farm based European wineries. These Loire Valley wines over-deliver for the price and have become store favourites. Unoaked – 2021 – Crisp green apple, white flowers, grapefruit zest and a hint of mint. Mineral and citrus underlay with a snappy finish.
Lord de la Ragotiere, Chardonnay – Loire, France 12% 750ml – $22.99
Who doesn’t want Chablis for $22? This is an unoaked Chardonnay from Loire without the Chablis regionality price tag. Unoaked – 2021 – Flowers & stone fruit on the nose. The palate is fresh, with notes of pear, citrus & just the right amount of texture which ends on a pleasant finish.
Le Paradou, Cinsault Rose – Southern France 12.5% 750ml – $18.99
Cinsault is a punchy, floral varietal found in a lot of Provence rose wines and blended into Southern French reds. This -$20 Rose is fruit forward and food friendly with delicate aromas of strawberry, pear, orange, and melon. Mineral and saline flavours, dry with a slightly peppered finish.
Famille Perrin, Ventoux – France 13.5% 750ml – $16.99
Perrin wines have a massive range of products from high to low. This Ventoux red is a total crowd pleaser with some concentration and lifted floral character. Heavier – 2021 – The nose offers notes of very ripe red fruit, spices & violets. The palate is balanced with a very aromatic fruit bouquet, nice freshness and very soft tannins.
Chapel Hill, The Parson Shiraz – McLaren Vale, Australia 14.5% 750ml – $24.99
Big, Aussie reds are ideal for pairing with BBQ red meats and heavy meals. Hot climate leads to deep, dark resinous fruit character yet balanced by earthy nuance that you can find, everything from eucalyptus to star anise. Heavier – 2020 – Generous aromas of mulberries, dusted with exotic Indian spices. The luscious palate is brimming with both aniseed & satsuma plum flavours that seamlessly integrate into the persistent mouth coating tannins.
